This Ghormeh Sabzi Simmer Sauce is the perfect shortcut to a delicious Persian stew. This sauce features balanced flavors of turmeric, garlic, and fenugreek.
This beloved dish is a delicious combination of strong flavors, from the potent mix of herbs to the addition of kidney beans to the spiced lamb. Famed as the national dish of Iran, it is an excellent example of the combinations of herbs, spices, and meats in Persian cuisine.
Ghormeh Sabzi is at least 500 years old, though some claim its history stretches back 2,000 years to the early Persian Empire. It is traditionally prepared for Nowruz, Persian New Year, and can be made with either beef or lamb.
This simmer sauce contains:

- Safflower Oil
- Spices
- Sea Salt
To prepare, brown cubed lamb or beef in a heavy saucepan on all sides. Add simmer sauce and kidney beans and simmer for 2 hours, or until meat is tender.
